The current  pandemic has really been an eye-opener on how incredibly important it is to save for an unexpected emergency.  Most of the time we take things for granted like assuming that we will always be employed, and receiving a monthly income. But the truth is, that is definitely not the case. Life situations can change overnight, I am sure you have noticed that during this pandemic thousands of people lost their livelihood's.  The sad reality is that, most people didn't plan for this nor did they have the savings to fall back on. This is why frugal living is so important it allows people to save, it doesn't matter what your income bracket is everyone can do it. Having a back up plan is always important, having emergency savings to use incase you loose your job. When I look back I feel fortunate enough to know that my family is protected financially...

1.Threading your own eyebrows and upper lip. Facial grooming can be expensive so why not learn the skill for yourself. I learnt how to thread from my mother in law. You will save a life time worth of salon trips and increase your savings. I also watched a whole lot of  YouTube videos  and practiced over and over. Now I do it  for my self and  I don't need go to the beauty salon. Developing different skills is a part of living a frugal meaningful life. Learning never stops!

2. Cutting your own hair! Imagine that. I know it sounds scary to most of you. If you don't feel confident enough practice makes perfect. I cut my own hair and I have invested in a hair cutting machine many years ago which I use to cut my families hair. This saves me so much because I'm not having to pay for weekly barber trips. I trim my own hair which prevents spilt ends this reduces the amount of times I need to go to the salon in a year. Constant maintenance and upkeep is how you save money.


3. DIY face packs to cleanse and nourish your skin. I'm all for natural products. Avoid using harsh ingredients and chemicals on your face because it ages you faster . It brings on the wrinkles without you even realizing it. Nobody wants to look older than they are .I use a mixture of plain unsweetened yogurt  with turmeric and honey once a week it's awesome for removing blemishes and dark circles around your eyes. It rejuvenates the skin leaving you with a youthful glow.


4. Sugar scrub as an exfoliator is awesome,  I just add a little sugar to my shower gel once a week  it exfoliates my skin leaving it smooth. Removing all the dead skin cells, allowing new growth. The key is to massage gently, rinse well and moisturize.

5. DIY foot soak for your warn out tired feet, who doesn't love a good foot soak, made from simple ingredients that is cheap and convenient to find. This soak is made from water, apple cider vinegar and baking soda after soaking for a while my feet feels so soft , it gets rid of cracked dry heels ,and  any type of bacteria that might be there leaving your feet super soft and clean.
