Awesome Frugal kitchen hacks that will stretch your money!

Want to save money in your kitchen?
Tired of always spending loads of money in your monthly budget. These Frugal hacks are a great ways to save!

Well I can share a few ideas that I normally use to save money. Remember here at frugaltoofreedom.com we are always looking for ways to save and stretch every penny so that we can invest and become financially independent.

Here are some Frugal simple hacks that you can utilize to save money in your home. They are not very extreme as one might think, (I've seen worst on extreme cheapskates).

1. Save all your fruit and vegetable scraps, Eggs shells and used tea bags and add them to your soil. Start collecting the scraps and leave them in a sealed container to start to decompose, after a few days add some soil and use this as a fertilizer. This increases the nutrients in the soil allowing the plants to grow well. I added a few pictures of my plants using my home made fertilizer.

2. Kitchen drain cleaner : A simple home made mixture of vinegar and baking soda can unblock your kitchen sink. Using this mixture will prevent any bacteria build up and decrease any odor. Using this especially during the winter months prevents drain blockage.

3. Using salt as an ant repellent: Ants are worrying you? Sprinkling salt near the entrances of your home will prevent ants from entering. I also sprinkle salt on the windowsills this prevents them from entering through the windows.

4. Adding 2 teaspoons of salt and warm water to your dishwashing liquid when its half empty can increase the amount allowing you to stretch this product for a while, The consistency of the liquid does not change it will still be thick and soapy.

5. Keeping orange and lemon peels in an open container in  the fridge helps to eliminate that musky fridge smell that we can never seem to get rid off.

6. Using a mixture of vinegar and baking soda as a degreaser for your stove tops, it eats through the grease leaving your stove tops shinny and clean. Just allow it to sit for a while before you clean.

7. Home made air freshener: 1 cut up lemon, the zest from the lemon mixed with 2 cups of water and a stick of cinnamon. Bring this to a boil and cool completely. Once cooled transfer to a spray bottle. This can be used to give your home a burst of freshness and remove any bad odors.

8.Lime scale build up in your kettle! Add a slice of lemon and a cup of water, boil it and leave it to cool for 10 minutes. After rinse well with water the lime scale will be gone.

9. Adding a few bay leaves to your dry pantry goods like rice, flour and maize can act as a bug repellent. The bitter odor of the bay leaves keeps the bugs away works well for most bugs, roaches, moths, weevils and mosquitoes.

I hope these tips will help you save more money in your kitchen. Allowing you to pay of debt  sooner and live a debt free life.

Small things we do everyday impacts our overall financial success.
